Band Of The Week – Angus & Julia Stone

Filed under: Band Of The Week — Jono @ 2:46 am

Last night on my late night drive from Selkirk to Edinburgh I heard Angus & Julia Stone for the first time. Their song Big Jet Plane is pretty awesome and totally suited the snowy 40 mile an hour drive up the A7.

Band Of The Week – The Fusiliers

Filed under: Band Of The Week — Tags: — Jono @ 10:45 am

Leith based “The Fusiliers” have a cool sound that initially made me think of “Tourists In The Warzone” (except with a more Edinburghy accent) and they’re definitely worth a listen. “She Cries” is a brilliant track but if you only stay on their MySpace for a couple of minutes you’ve got to check out “The Way” first. Browse their Facebook for more of the banter.

Band Of The Week – My Latest Novel

Filed under: Band Of The Week — Jono @ 2:18 am

My Latest Novel are a pretty grand sounding band, with a kind of trudging sounding percussion that just sounds ace. Check out I Declare A Ceasefire to hear what I’m on about!

Band Of The Week – Beach House

Filed under: Band Of The Week — Jono @ 7:07 am

Beach House have written some great tunes and I’m really quite liking their sound even though it always seems just a little bit too slow (maybe like it’s been recorded after the mixing desk has had a few drinks)… still, well worth a listen.

Band Of The Week – King Post Kitsch

Filed under: Band Of The Week — Jono @ 5:38 am

This week my Band Of The Week are King Post Kitsch 0 they are pretty chilled out (you could even say Eels-esque) and their track “Fante’s Last Stand” is well worth a little listen.
Enjoy.
