The National have been around for a while (and the song Fake Empire has been awesome from the word go) so if you haven’t listened to them yet you better do it now. Here’s Bloodbuzz Ohio from their stunning new album, High Violet.

Music For The Weekend – Frightened Rabbit
Just when if felt like it had been a long time since I’d mentioned Frightened Rabbit they’ve gone and do a stunning 14 track “acoustic” session which the nice people at Revision3 recorded. Please do watch it all – it’s really good fun. Have a nice weekend.

Band Of The Week – City And Colour
City and Colour are one of those bands that I can’t believe I’ve taken so long to discover; they tick all the boxes for me with their nice chilled acoustic sounds, soaring vocals and sweet sounding harmonies. I tried to describe them but the best I could come up with was that they sound like what I’d imagine Bon Iver joining up with Frightened Rabbit to do acoustic covers of The Gaslight Anthem would sound like.

Band Of The Week – The Arcadian Kicks
Walk Alone by The Arcadian Kicks is my must listen track this week. I’m probably just jumping on the bandwagon with these guys (seeing as they have Blondie’s producer in tow and they’re probably going to get a lot of press sometime soon) but they are actually quite good. Enjoy.
